Social media post are typically not cited in end references of scientific manuscripts. Normally, more reliable sources are used. If it is necessary to cite a post, for example, for a comment thread, the final reference should follow one of these models..

  • General format for a Facebook post:

Username or group page name. Title, text, or partial text of post. Facebook; date of posting. URL
